Talk on ‘Anti-Competition Law? State aid and tax competition in the European Union’

Dr Stuart MacLennan of Coventry University’s Research Centre for Financial & Corporate Integrity will be giving a guest lecture on Monday 25th March, 2 – 3.30pm in Dalhousie LT 1 . All welcome.


‘Anti-Competition Law? State aid and tax competition in the European Union’


Dr. Stuart MacLennan is a Senior Lecturer in the Law School, specialising in economic aspects of law, in particular tax law, EU law, and Competition Law.


Stuart completed his undergraduate degree (LL.B.(Hons)) at the University of Edinburgh, his Masters degree (LL.M.) at the Glasgow Graduate School of Law, and his Ph.D. at Trinity College, University of Dublin. Stuart also completed the Scots equivalent of the LPC (Diploma in Legal Practice) at the University of Edinburgh. Stuart previously taught at Trinity College, Dublin, and the China-EU School of Law.


Stuart presently leads the undergraduate EU Law module, as well as International Competition Law and Practice on our LL.M. programmes.


Stuart’s current research interests include the taxation of online enterprises, in particular in European Union law; and dispute resolution under double taxation treaties.
