International Criminal Courts in an Internationalised World: Their Evolution and Future Prospects

The Edinburgh Global Justice Academy will host a roundtable event entitled “International Criminal Courts in an Internationalised World: Their Evolution and Future Prospects” in Edinburgh Law School, Old College Room LO5 from 15.45 on 12 February 2014.

The panel consists of the Right Hon. Lord Bonomy (Iain Bonomy), Judge of the Supreme Court, Dr Jan Nemitz, ICTY Appeals Chamber and Dr Guido Acquaviva, Special Tribunal for Lebanon. Christine Bell, Professor of Constitutional Law and Director of the Global Justice Academy, will chair the discussion, which will address the successes and failures of international criminal institutions in the last twenty years, and assess the prospects for its future. The roundtable will benefit from the panel’s experience of working within the institutions.

The roundtable will be followed by a wine reception in the Lorimer Room, from 5.30pm, to introduce the new, student-run Global Justice Society.

This event is free and open to all, but places are limited. For further details and to register, please use Eventbrite.
